About Us

Who are you?

We’re a Scouts Active Support Unit operating an online radio station from our studios in Bristol, in the South-West of the UK. All of our team are members of The Scout Association, be that Scouts, Explorers, Leaders or Volunteers.

What do you do?

We provide live broadcasts and recorded content from our studios in Bristol and at events around the globe.

How do I listen?

You can tune-in via our website, on our apps for mobile and tablet devices and various internet directories such as TuneIn. At certain events we also take photographs and record interviews, these are all available via our Facebook and Twitter pages.

What do you do at events?

We provide various services from interviews to an on-line radio station to a full FM station. Our services are operated alongside an activity. The radio broadcast provides an opportunity for those not at the events (i.e. parents) to follow what is going on at the event and to hear about the activities the young people are enjoying on site. The Avon Scout Radio team at the event will interview participants and those leading the event. Event participants will also be able to come in to the temporary studio to choose some music, and to present their own live shows, this helps towards the new ‘Media Relations and Marketing’ badge.

At national events, we often work closely with our partners at Bucks Scout Radio.

If you fancy seeing as at your event then pop over to our ‘Contact‘ page and we’ll get back to you very soon.
